Naya Rivera is Writing a Memoir

Posted on June 7, 2015

Actress Naya Rivera has inked a deal with Tarcher Peguin for a memoir. Naya is best known for her portrayal as Santana Lopez on Glee, which just wrapped its sixth and final season Fox.

Naya worked regularly on a number of TV shows growing up, guest starring on such shows as The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Family Matters, Baywatch and The Bernie Mac Show. But at one point acting jobs dried up and she became a waitress at Hooters. She landed the part of Santa in the Fox hit created by Ryan Murphy and suddenly she was on top again. After Glee ended, Santana has guest hosted The View and will return there on a recurring basis. She just joined the cast of Marc Cherry's Devious Maids, in which she plays a maid named Blanca Alvarez. Naya took the above selfie on her one her first days on the set of Devious Maids.

The memoir is called Sorry Not Sorry: Dreams, Mistakes, and Growing Up, and it will tell the story of how her successful childhood career came to a screeching halt, before it took off again. Naya writes about her struggles in Hollywood and the difficulties of being mixed race. She will also discuss her dating life, which used to get quite a bit of tabloid coverage.

The book is set to be released in Spring, 2016.

Update: Naya Rivera's book can be found on Amazon.com. Here's a behind-the-scenes video from the cover shoot for the book.
