New Magazine From Health Net for Women Over 40

Posted on October 8, 1999

Health Net has announced the launch of a new magazine: Healthy Living at 40-Plus: A Woman's Resource Guide to Good Health. This new magazine from Health Net, one of California's largest health plans, was mailed recently to 176,000 female Health Net members in their middle years.

"For women, reaching the age of menopause is when a number of health-related risk factors kick in," said Cindy Keitel, Health Net's director of Health Improvement. "A woman's body goes through many changes, the most significant being the decreased production of estrogen. After menopause, women see a greater number of diseases and conditions that can sometimes go either undiagnosed or undertreated."

Healthy Living at 40 Plus: A Woman's Resource Guide to Good Health, is a collaborative effort between Health Net and Prevention Magazine. The magazine is a guide to good health that answers questions and gives topical information so women can better manage their health. "The purpose of this magazine is to help educate women about menopause and help them decrease their risk factors for hip fractures, heart attacks and other medical conditions," Keitel said.
