New Phrases Added to the Style Lexicon

Posted on November 11, 2005

In her new Talk column, Amanda Hesser decrees that three new words/phrases must be added to the Style Lexicon.

The words include "Matchy-matchy," which is defined as two or more things that go together but in a way that may be too much. The second word "domestic" refers to the family or household. It is sometimes followed by the word goddess.

The third word is an interesting one for chocolate lovers. It is called choco-dependent and it is a word meaning chocolate addict.

Not only did we learn some new words, we've now discovered the genius of Francois Pralus, "one of France's three remaining bean-to-bar chocolate makers."
