New Powerpuff Girls Comic Series to Launch in July

Posted on June 7, 2016

A new The Powerpuff Girls comic book series will launch in July. The launch of the comics follows the release of the new animated series on Cartoon Network. The comic from IDW Publishing features the adventures of Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup.

Crime rates are low in the first issue and the Powerpuff Girls have fallen off the public's radar. The quietness ends suddenly when their archenemy Mojo Jojo storms into town to make a comeback.

IDW says the comic series will act as an extension of the animated series. It is written by staff writers Jake Goldman and Haley Mancini with artwork by Derek Charm.

Powerpuff Girls editor Sarah Gaydos says in a statement, "The Powerpuff Girls and IDW – – a perfect combo! Look forward to more fun with the Girls, as Derek, Haley, and Jake take us back to the city of Townsville!"
