Nominees Named for Game Developers Choice Awards

The International Game Developers Association (IGDA) has announced the nominees for the annual Game Developers Choice Awards. The winners will be announced at the ceremony on March 21, during the Game Developers Conference (GDC), March 19 - 23 in San Jose, Calif. Nominations were free and open to all professional game developers, regardless of membership or affiliation.
"Every year, the Game Developers Choice Awards recognize the most innovative individuals and games in the industry," stated Warren Spector, studio director of ION Storm Austin and IGDA board member. "The nominees represent what game developers consider to be the best in game development -- the work they most admire and the efforts that are advancing the state of the art."

An advisory committee from the IGDA will select the recipients of the Lifetime Achievement Award, First Penguin Award and the IGDA Award for Community Contribution. All registered GDC attendees are invited to attend the ceremony. The International Game Developers Association is a non-profit association established by game developers to foster the creation of a worldwide game development community.
