New York Times Launches NYT Opinion

Posted on June 4, 2014

The New York Times has launched NYT Opinion. It is a stand-alone subscription to all the Times' opinion coverage. The opinion coverage is available online and through an iPhone app. It costs $6 for four weeks.

Andrew Rosenthal, Editorial Page Editor at The New York Times, says in the announcement, "For the first time, readers like you can opt for unlimited access to just our section - including our roster of distinguished columnists, our provocative Op-Ed contributors and contributing writers, our agenda-setting editorials, our award-winning Op-Docs series and much, much more."

The NYT Opinion app has two streams. One stream includes all the articles from The Times' opinion section. The other stream contains Q&As with Times' writers and features. A feature on the app, called My Reads, lets users save stories to read later.
