Posted on May 26, 2015

Orbit has announced a deal to publish two new science fiction novels by award-winning author Ann Leckie. The first novel is set in the same universe as her Ancillary novels. It will be published in 2017. The second is an unrelated science fiction novel. Orbit is the science fiction and fantasy imprint of the Hachette Book Group.

Ann Leckie won the Hugo, Nebula and Arthur C. Clarke novel with her debut novel, Ancillary Justice. The sequel, Ancillary Sword, has also been nominated for a Nebula Award and the Hugo Award for Best Novel. The third Ancillary novel, Ancillary Mercy, will be published this October.

Orbit publisher Tim Holman says in a statement, "Ann Leckie is a major new voice in science fiction, and we're thrilled that Orbit will continue as her worldwide English-language publisher with these new novels. The unprecedented success of her debut novel, Ancillary Justice, marked the beginning of what promises to be a remarkable writing career, and we are hugely looking forward to continuing our partnership over the coming years."

Ann Leckie says, "I'm so happy to be able to continue working with Orbit! It's been an amazing couple of years together, and I'm looking forward to spending more time in my science fictional universe, and more time with my readers."
