Paramount to Make Film of Libba Bray's Upcoming Series, The Diviners

Posted on June 12, 2012

Bestselling author Libba Bray just snagged a very nice movie deal for the rights to her upcoming novel, The Diviners. Paramount snapped up the rights to the projected four book series. Libba will adapt the screenplay and serve as executive producer.

The Diviners is set in the 1920s. It follows a group of young New Yorkers with mysterious powers who play a dramatic role in a battle of good vs. evil when a series of occult-based murders begins to terrify the city. Little Brown will publish the first book in the series in September, 2012.

In addition to the New York Times bestselling Gemma Doyle trilogy (A Great and Terrible Beauty, Rebel Angels and The Sweet Far Thing), Libba is also the author of the Michael L. Printz Award-winning Going Bovine and Los Angeles Times Book Award finalist Beauty Queens.
