PBS Teachersource Relaunches

Posted on November 22, 1999

PBS TeacherSource has relaunched, featuring a growing inventory of more than 1,300 free lesson plans, teacher guides and online student activities. The expanded PBS TeacherSource offers new content and features, including easier access to curriculum, professional development and community resources provided by PBS stations across the country.

PBS TeacherSource aggregates the services PBS and its member stations provide to educators, and helps teachers learn effective ways to incorporate video and the Internet in the classroom. Most of the site's offerings build on issues addressed by PBS's television programs. PBS TeacherSource groups its resources into five subject areas -- Arts & Literature; Math; Science & Technology; Social Studies; and Health & Fitness -- and offers subject, grade level and keyword searches.

"As the largest source of video programming with extended taping rights for educators, PBS is proud to offer a Web site with such an unprecedented array of local and national education resources," said Cari Ladd, PBS director of online education.
