America Online and Time Inc. New Media have announced an expanded online alliance that will make the online edition of People Magazine available exclusively on AOL. Under the alliance, Time Inc. New Media's online brands -- Time.com, Entertainment Weekly Online, ParentTime, and Money.com - become accessible, via anchor tenancies, to AOL's millions of members.

"This is a significant expansion of our strategic online alliance with Time Inc. New Media that builds on the success of our exclusive online launch of Teen People by giving our members easy access to the online versions of such blockbuster brands as Time, People, Entertainment Weekly, Money and ParentTime," said Bob Pittman, President and Chief Operating Officer of America Online. "Placing these world-class brands so prominently on AOL is yet another step in delivering the industry's leading value and convenience to our members."

Under the agreement, these existing Time Inc. web-based brands will become accessible via anchor tenancies on AOL: -- Entertainment Weekly Online gains anchor tenancy on AOL's Entertainment Channel (Keyword: Entertainment Weekly or EW); -- Time.com, the flagship daily news and information service, will become an anchor tenant in the AOL News Channel (Keyword: Time). Time will also feature monthly live online events on AOL with key figures in the news; -- ParentTime, a joint venture with Procter & Gamble, gains an anchor tenancy on AOL's Family Channel (keyword: Parenttime); and -- Money.com gains anchor tenancy on AOL's Personal Finance Channel. (keyword: Money.com).

This latest agreement extends the relationship between AOL and Time Inc. New Media that began in January 1998, when the companies announced that AOL would be the exclusive provider of the online version of Time Inc.'s Teen People magazine, launched simultaneously in print and on AOL. Teen People is an anchor tenant in AOL's Teen Channel (Keyword: Teen People).
