Peter Lerangis to Pen Seven Wonders, Seven Book Tween Series for HarperCollins

HarperCollins Publishers announced it will publish a seven book tween adventure series by author Peter Lerangis called Seven Wonders. The tween series follows four friends on an epic quests to unlock the secrets of an ancient world. The first book, The Colossus Rises, will arrive in stores on February 5, 2013. A new book in the series will then be released every nine months.

Lerangis said in a statement, "It's the story of a lifetime. A combustible mix of ordinary kids thrown into an extraordinary world of mystical settings, history, humor, science, odd characters, and a barefoot burping giant named Torquin. I am having way too much fun writing this series. I can't wait for readers across the world to discover Seven Wonders."

In The Colossus Rises, 13-year-old Jack McKinley is captured by a mysterious organization and told he has a rare genetic disorder the will soon kill him. The organization tells him that a cure to his disorder lies in the retrieval of seven magical objects that have been lost in a secret ancient world for thousands of years.

The Select, a prequel to the Seven Wonders series, will be released as a free original ebook on December 18, 2012.
