Penguin Random House has announced it acquired world publication rights for the autobiography of music legend Phil Collins. The book will be released in print and digital formats in October 2016. It will be published by Crown Archetype in the U.S. and Canada and by Century in the UK.
Collins' book does not yet have a title. Collins has sold over 100 million albums as a solo artist and band member during his career. He was the drummer and lead singer for Genesis before going solo. Some of the top hits as a solo artist include "In the Air Tonight," "Against All Odds," and "You'll Be in My Heart." Collins has won seven Grammy awards.
Collins also has a Double CD with two remastered albums, Face Value (pictured above) and Both Sides coming out next January. The CD and download editions feature previously unreleased demos and live versions. The albums can be found on Collins' website, philcollins.com.
Collins says in a statement, "Several times over the last few years I have been asked to write a biography but never felt that the time was right—until now. Having found the right publisher in Penguin Random House, I am ready to go on record about my life in music, with all the highs and all the lows, and to tell the story from my point of view, 'warts and all!'."
