Planetgarden.com has announced a comprehensive content partnership with Cool Springs Press. The deal, which grants Planetgarden the exclusive on-line rights to all Cool Springs content, gives Planetgarden.com access to more than 40 state-specific gardening books. The deal provides Planetgarden.com the exclusive on-line rights to each book and weekly contributions from each author.
``This positions Planetgarden.com to bring daily, regional, relevant content to the web and to the millions who garden,'' said Planetgarden.com's CEO Charles Marto. ``Since 67% of U.S. households participate in some form of gardening, our authors and content can certainly make a impact on the success that each gardener achieves,'' said Marto.
The authors will form the nucleus of the Planetgarden.com news bureau that will provide information to consumers and professionals alike. Coupled with its partnership with Atlanta-based Pike Family Nurseries consumers will be able to access both information and product selection. 20,000 products will be available direct through Planetgarden.com's virtual warehouse system in late summer from America's top growers and manufacturers.
Cool Springs President Roger Waynick said, ``Planetgarden.com is positioned to expand the original mission of Cool Springs Press, which is to provide gardeners with the best and most relevant information to make them more successful.''
Planetgarden.com plans to add more alliances and relationships worldwide to the content and product offerings. The offerings will be provided in a zip code and regionally-coded format to better provide each gardener with local climate, soil quality and other information to make a better-informed planting and purchasing decision. The features include how-to instruction, hot-tips, landscaping items and seasonally-related content.
Planetgarden.com combines personalized delivery of information, services and products to serve both the business-to-business and business-to-consumer marketplaces. Planetgarden.com is headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia. Franklin, TN based Cool Springs Press has gained a national niche in publishing state-specific gardening guides. In 1998 CSP launched month-by-month gardening guides to complement its state offerings.
