Previously Unknown Beatrix Potter Painting to be Sold at Auction

Posted on October 30, 2008

A previously unknown illustration by Beatrix Potter has been put up for auction by Bonhams of London. The watercolor shows a cute girl bunny drinking tea. It's a fully realized painting which has never appeared in any of the Peter Rabbit books. In fact, it's a bit of a mystery.

The Daily Express reports that the illustration is expected to sell for at least 15,000 pounds when it is auctioned in November.

Bonhams of London says the painting is from a private collection. So who is the adorable mystery bunny who loves tea? And why didn't she get her own story? We hope someday her secret story is revealed.
