Prometheus Books to Launch New Mystery Thriller Imprint

Posted on September 13, 2011

Publishers Weekly reports that Prometheus Books is launching a new mystery and thriller imprint. The imprint will be called Seventh Street Books.

New titles will be published in fall/winter 20122013. The former mystery buyer for Barnes and Noble, Dan Mayer, is the new editorial director of the imprint. Mayer said, "I'm looking forward to what by all accounts is a dream job. A new imprint devoted to mystery and thriller fiction is ripe with possibilities."

Prometheus was inspired to launch the new imprint because of the success with its science fiction and fantasy imprint, Pyr. Seventh Street will launch with somewhere between 10 and 12 titles. The titles will increase to 32-35 in the future.

We're always happy to hear about a new book imprint, and this one sounds quite interesting.
