Quentin Tarantino won the Oscar for Best Original Screenplay at the 85th Academy Awards. Quentin thanked the actors in his acceptance speech. He said you need the right actors to give the characters you create longevity.

Quentin said, "I actually think if people are knowing about my movies 30 or 50 years from now it's going to be because of the characters that I create. And I really only get one chance to get it right. I have to cast the right people to make those characters come alive and hopefully come alive and boy this time did I do it. Thank you so much guys!"

Tarantino also declared 2013 to be the writer's year.
