Random House Launches Current Affairs Website

Posted on September 10, 2011

Publishers Weekly reports that Random House has launched a new current affairs website. The site is called Conversation Online and is run by Random House executive editor Jon Meacham. The site will cover current topics while recommending books.

The site will encourage a community discussion about the most relevant issues facing the nation and the world. Meacham and other contributors will regularly recommend titles that give context, historical background or other insights into the daily headlines.

Meacham, a Pulitzer Prize winner for his biography of Andrew Jackson, leads a discussion of about issues in the news, and books relating to those topics. Meacham will recommend books for those interested in learning more about topics of discussion. Right now, the discussion is about the tenth anniversary of the 9/11 attacks.

Update: Random House has closed the "Conversation Online" website. It is no longer available.
