Posted on April 13, 2010

The book world is a little bit smaller today. Random House is merging two of its imprints. Bantam Dell will merge with Ballantine Books to become Ballantine Bantam Dell. The two imprints will no longer have separate editorial departments. Publishers Weekly reports that Libby McGuire has been named senior vice president and publisher of Ballantine Bantam Dell. Jennifer Hershey, Scott Shannon and Kim Hovey will report to Libby McGuire.

Nita Taublib, the former executive vice president, publisher and editor-in-chief of Bantam Dell, will be leaving the company. You can read the memo about her exit from Random House here.
