Random House to Promote Books With Internet Greeting Cards

Posted on October 26, 2000

Blab Media Inc. president Vince Commisso has announced that the company has entered into a strategic relationship with Random House Inc. The two companies will work together to create and distribute Internet greeting cards based on a specific selection of Random House titles that will be featured on Blab.com. The Internet greeting card promotion begins with Anne Rice's latest book, Merrick. Merrick is published by Alfred A. Knopf, a division of Random House Inc.

Terrence Cheng, Director of Corporate Online Marketing at Random House, stated that, ``We are very happy to be working with a young and expanding company such as Blab.com. They provide us with a versatile and distinctive capability for promoting our books and authors. The work that they've done in the past is truly impressive, so we are confident that the greetings we create with Blab Media will inspire a broader readership for Random House books.''

``Transforming books into greeting cards that convey the author's intent and meaning,'' stated Commisso, president of Blab Media, ``adds a new dimension to a Web site already distinguished for its versatility and entertainment value. Our relationship with Random House defines the future of collaborations between 'bricks and clicks' and we want the publishing and literary communities to know that Blab.com is the ideal promotion destination for authors and their books.''
