Rare Medium Retained by Weider Publications, Inc.

Rare Medium Inc. has announced it has been retained by Weider Publications, Inc., a publisher of health, fitness and active magazines, to develop and execute its Internet strategy. Rare Medium will lend its Web expertise to help Weider Publications, Inc. extend its fitness brands online. Titles under Weider Publications include Shape, Men's Fitness, Muscle & Fitness, Natural Health, Jump, Fit Pregnancy and Flex.

Rare brings a complete understanding of the interactive market and the strategies needed to succeed in this competitive marketplace," said Bobbi Gutman, executive vice president of consumer marketing and business development for Weider Publications, Inc.
Initially, Rare Medium will work with Weider to devise online strategies for each individual Weider brand. Efforts will focus on establishing business models, marketing strategies and operation plans, while taking into account the company's assets, as well as consumer trends and the competitive landscape. Subsequently, Rare Medium will recommend tactical plans leading to the development of websites.
