Rebecca S. Barna Named President of Popular Science Properties

Times Mirror Magazines has named Rebecca S. Barna President of Popular Science Properties and a Vice President of Times Mirror Magazines, it was announced by Jason E. Klein, President of Times Mirror Magazines. Barna, 50, will be responsible for further developing and shaping Popular Science and its related properties, for the 21st Century. Barna will report to Klein. Barna's succeeds Fred Abatemarco, who has been named Senior Contributing Editor for Popular Science.

``Becky Barna has an outstanding record of success in building businesses,'' said Klein. ``As VP and Group Publisher of CMP Media, she built an Internet business that approached $30 million in revenue, and while Publisher of InformationWeek Magazine, she grew business eightfold to over $100 million in revenue. That success, combined with her more than 20 years in technology and computing publishing, make her a tremendous asset to our organization.''
