Red Hat Developing Social Network Called Mugshot

Posted on June 7, 2006

Red Hat is working on a social networking site called Mugshot. The site will allow people to share links with Link Swarm and share music with Music Radar. Mugshot is tardy with the bookmark sharing tool. There are already plenty of bookmark sharing tools and memediggers but Link Swarm has a cool name and nice look at least. Plus, people always seem willing to try out new link sharing sites so maybe the perfect one has not yet been invented. Mugshot does not appear to offers blogging tools to users but they may offer some add-ons for blogs.

Mugshot's blog mentions a flash embed that can be used for the Music Radar tool. Download Squad notes that Mugshot is open source. There is a fair amount of discussion of Mugshot by tech bloggers. Some is good and some is bad but the domain, which is a .org domain, is getting a little buzz.
