Posted on March 29, 2004

Many books with religious themes like Tim LaHaye and Jerry Jenkins' Glorious Appearing, Rick Warren's The Purpose-Driven Life and Mitch Albom's novel, The Five People You Meet in Heaven are hitting bestseller lists. Dan Brown's novel The Da Vinci Code, which considers the possibility Jesus was married to Mary Magdalene, has also topped bestseller lists. And more books of this type are on the way. A USA Today article by Bob Minzesheimer suggests a new genre called Bible Lit could emerge offering fictional stories inspired by tales from the Bible.
