After the success of his books
The Ultimate Ice Cream Book and
The Ultimate Party Drinks Book, Bruce Weinstein
turns his take-no-prisoners approach to shrimp, with
very interesting results. Weinstein offers up 650 recipes
for shrimp, from the classics such as Shrimp Remoulade,
Shrimp la King, Shrimp Mole, Shrimp Gumbo and Shrimp
Etouffe, to fusion-inspired dishes, such as Coconut Shrimp,
Sesame Shrimp, Tandoori Shrimp, and Bon Bon Shrimp.
For each main dish, the basic recipe is given, with a number
of possible variations on the dish added at the end of the recipe.
The recipes are simple to follow, and are arranged in alphabetical
order -- if you know what recipe you're looking for, this
is quite helpful. If not, just browse through the book until
you see something that catches your fancy. This is a great, basic
instruction book which is sure to come in handy whenever
you have a longing for a delicious shrimp dish.
