Rodale Launches Organic Life Magazine
Posted on May 27, 2015
Rodale has launched a new print magazine called Rodale's Organic Life. The first issue of the publication was the May/June 2015 issue which arrived on newsstands last month. The magazine is a relaunch of Rodale's Organic Gardening. Rodale says the magazine will continue to feature gardening content but will add new categories, including food, home and wellbeing.
Rodale's Organic Life will be published six times per year. It will have an initial rate base of 300,000. The cover price is $4.99. Rodale says the premiere issue has 64 advertisers.
James Oseland, the editor-in-chief of Organic Life, says in a statement, "What you'll find is a beautiful, fun, and empowering brand for people who strive to live well, consume responsibly, and embrace everyday life with mindfulness and gusto. We're not preaching a hard-and-fast set of rules of what is or isn't 'organic;' we are celebrating the shared belief of a wide and fast-growing audience that we are put on earth to constantly strive to be better—spiritually, physically, intellectually and emotionally."
The magazine will feature columns by Carla Hall, Margaret Roach, and Dara Moskowitz Grumdahl. A section called Almanac will provide how-tos, tips and more. Some of the content in the 160-page debut issue include features on the sustainable flower movement, the science of walking and wild sockeye salmon. There is also a guide to today's best homegrown lettuces.
