Rodale to Create New Interactive Business Unit

Rodale, a health information provider, has announced that it has formed a new business unit that will expand the company's Internet ventures through more aggressive development, and by securing new business alliances and partnerships. The new business unit, Rodale Interactive, will build on the company's web-based operations which include over 50 websites (including menshealth.com, scubadiving.com and runnersworld.com), an online book store, and Rodale's Online Health, a web-based health product designed for corporate health and wellness.

"Rodale Interactive will identify opportunities to create new concepts and business alliances that further promote our leadership in the healthy active living arena," says Pat Corpora, President of Rodale Books, who will oversee the new business unit and serve as its Managing Director.

Rodale, headquartered in Emmaus, PA, publishes multiple health and fitness titles including Prevention, New Woman, Men's Health, Runner's World, Backpacker, Bicycling, Mountain Bike, Rodale's Scuba Diving, and Fitness Swimmer magazines along with books including The Doctors Book of Home Remedies. The company's book unit publishes 100 new titles a year, and has a back list featuring more than 500 titles on the subjects of cooking, health, fitness, gardening, nature, quilting, and crafts.
