Scholastic Announces Summer Reading Road Trip

Posted on May 23, 2016

Scholastic has announced its 2016 summer reading campaign with the launch of the Summer Reading Road Trip. The publisher is sending two book-themed RVs on a journey that will combine 10,000 miles. The RVs feature Clifford the Big Red Dog, Harry Potter and other characters from children's books. They will visit local bookstores, schools and libraries across the country.

Some of the highlights of the road trip will include book signings, activity tents and crafts, giveaway tables, prize wheels, animated gif photo stations, costume characters and more. The theme this year is "Be a Reading Superhero."

Ellie Berger, EVP and President of Scholastic Trade Publishing, says in a statement, "Scholastic is proud to bring families and communities together this summer to celebrate books and reading with the Scholastic Summer Reading Road Trip. We are so excited to be working with booksellers, teachers, librarians, and our authors and illustrators nationwide, to encourage kids to have fun with reading this summer."

You can find a list of the tour stops here on scholastic.com.
