Theodor Seuss Geisel's 100th birthday would have been today, March 2, 2004. Theodor Seuss Geisel, also known as Dr. Seuss, lived from 1904 to 1991. To celebrate the birthday Random House Children's Books has planned numerous events, contests and readings at children's museums, community centers, and other public venues nationwide. Seussentennial is a yearlong tribute to the man known and loved by generations of Americans as Dr. Seuss. A biography of Theodor Seuss Geisel, The Seuss, the Whole Seuss and Nothing But the Seuss, has also been released just in time for the Seussentennial.
