Sid Evans Named Editor in Chief of Southern Living Magazine

Sid Evans has been named the editor in chief of Southern Living magazine. The magazine is published by Time Inc. Time says the magazine reaches an audience of 16 million through print, digital and mobile platforms. The company is headquartered in Birmingham, Ala. Evans joined Time Inc. in 2010 after leaving his position as editor-in-chief of Garden & Gun. He will continue to have editorial oversight over Cooking Light, Coastal Living, Sunset and This Old House. Lindsay Bierman was the editor of Southern Living since 2010. She is leaving to become Chancellor of the School of the Arts at the University of North Carolina.
Evans says in a statement, "I'm thrilled to have the opportunity to accelerate the growth of this powerful and dynamic brand. Now we're expanding that relationship to include books, digital products, retail partnerships, real estate, travel, and all sorts of Southern experiences.
