Simon & Schuster Moves Up Date for Steve Jobs Biography to October 24

Posted on October 7, 2011

Simon & Schuster is bumping up the public date from Walter Isaacson's Steve jobs biography to October 24th. The original publication date for the biography, called Steve Jobs, was November 21, but the date has been moved up to the massive interest in Apple's visionary leader, following his death on October 5th.

Simon & Schuster says, "Although Jobs cooperated with this book, he asked for no control over what was written nor even the right to read it before it was published. He put nothing off-limits. He encouraged the people he knew to speak honestly. And Jobs speaks candidly, sometimes brutally so, about the people he worked with and competed against."

Walter Isaacson told Time magazine that he was selected by Steve Jobs to write the biography. The Wall Street Journal reports that Isaacson interviews jobs both before and after he resigned from Apple, Inc.
