Posted on May 4, 2011

Simon & Schuster will publish the memoir of the Academy Award-winning actress Melissa Leo. The book, which does not yet have a title, captures the life and career of the 2011 Oscar winning actress. The book will be published in 2013.

Melissa said, "My work requires that I inhabit other people's lives but my memoir demands that I take on the toughest role of my career - playing myself. I will give it my whole heart and soul."

Some of the characters Melissa Leo has played include Sergeant Kay Howard in Homicide, Marianne in 21 Grams, Ray in Frozen River and Alice Ward in The Fighter. In her autobiography, Leo describes her chaotic and unusual childhood, her stormy breakup with actor John Heard and her long battle to obtain custody of her only son.

Update 10-25-14: It is well passed 2013 and we still have not seen this memoir released. However, Melissa Leo has remained extremely busy in film and television.
