Over Six Billion People Are Blogless

Posted on October 18, 2005

According to the UN there are 6.5 billion people living on Earth. And according to the Blog Herald's latest count there are at least 100,000 million blogs worldwide. That means that 6.4 billion people do not yet have their own blog or that there is about one blog for every 65,000 people here on Earth.

Note: The CIA Factbook has a number slightly less than the UN's 6.5 billion so the number of blogless people in the world could be more like 6.35 billion. That's a lot of people in need of a blog!

How many people will be blogging by 2012? The UN says the world's population will be around 7 billion by then. Even if there are a billion blogs by 2012 it will still leave much of the world's population without one.
