SmartMoney Magazine to Cease Print Version, Go Web-Only

Posted on June 27, 2012

SmartMoney is joining the list of many other titles and moving to a web-only format. The announcement was made by publisher Dow Jones & Co. The Wall Street Journal reports that the last print issue of SmartMoney will be the September issue, published on August 14th.

SmartMoney has a circulation of 813,730. 25 print jobs are being eliminated and six editorial positions are being added to the magazine's website, SmartMoney.com.

AdWeek says personal finance magazines have been particularly hard hit this year. The delay is getting information is a problem. It is hard for the information in a magazine to be current or fresh when it arrives monthly.
