SSC and Be Launch Be Magazine

Specialized Systems Consultants, Inc. (SSC) and Be, Incorporated have announced the launch of Be Magazine, a new print publication devoted to Be and its software platforms, including the Be Operating System (BeOS). Be Magazine will launch as a bi-monthly publication with an initial circulation of 30,000 copies. The premiere issue of Be Magazine will arrive on newsstands in March of 2000.

Scot Hacker, author of The BeOS Bible, has been named editor of Be Magazine. An authority on the Be operating system for over four years, Hacker has witnessed the growth of the Be platform. "BeOS applications are appearing in major computer stores, the user base is expanding, and the operating system is supporting more and more key technologies," said Mr. Hacker.

"Just as readers have not had a single magazine they could turn to for Be Operating System information, advertisers have not had a targeted venue for promoting their Be-specific products," said Phil Hughes, president of SSC and publisher of Be Magazine. "This new print magazine will offer a forum for both sides to meet, discuss and learn about this innovative and influential marketplace."
