St. Martin's Press Forming New Military Imprint SOFREP Books

Posted on April 30, 2015

St. Martin's Press is forming a new imprint which will focus on military and special operations themed titles. The new imprint is called SOFREP Books, which is an acronym for Special Operations Forces Situation Report.

St. Martin's is partnering with Force12 Media for the venture. Force12 Media owns the website sofrep.com, which is what the imprint is named after. The website is owned and operated by military veterans in the U.S. and Canada and features news, articles and features about military subjects from a factual and not a political angle. The site aims to provide balanced coverage of topics that the founders believe are inadequately covered in the mainstream media who many times do not have the expertise to give appropriate dimension to news stories.

The St. Martin's Executive Editor Marc Resnick is working closely with Force 12 Media CEO Brandon Webb and SOFREP editor Jack Murphy. The imprint is expected to launch in 2016 and will publish several titles a year. One of the first title will be Nick Irving's next book. Irving's memoir The Reaper: Autobiography of One of the Deadliest Special Ops Snipers was a New York Times bestseller. Irving was a Special Operations Direct Action Sniper and his book gives an inside look at his career.

SOFREP's Jack Murphy says they are considering book submissions. The website will soon have a writer submission portal, but if you've got a serious book concept you're excited about, let them know via the contact page at the website.
