Posted on September 17, 2004

tbt*, a weekly newspaper for young adults in the Tampa Bay area, made its debut earlier this month. The new tabloid newspaper is edited for an audience between ages 25 and 35. Published each Friday, it will have a distribution of 75,000 copies in Hillsborough and Pinellas counties, and will be free to readers. The initials tbt* are short for Tampa Bay Times. tbt* is produced by the Times Publishing Co., which also publishes the St. Petersburg Times. tbt* can be read online at tampabay.com

"Adults in this age group have wide interests and plenty of options about how to satisfy them. The only thing theyre short of is time," said Paul Tash, editor and chairman of Times Publishing. "We're confident we can give them a newspaper that is local, useful and fun. There's nothing else like it on the market."

tbt* has short articles and items about news and entertainment, with coverage about ways to spend money and leisure time. The newspaper features color photography and illustrations throughout, and it is printed on high-quality paper to give it a distinctive look and feel. The debut edition of tbt* carries 96 pages of news and advertising.
