Star Tribune Names Rusty Coats Editor of Startribune.com

Rusty Coats has been named editor of www.startribune.com at The Star Tribune Company. In his new position, Coats will oversee startribune.com and work with its staff to continue to grow the site. Coats reports to Tim McGuire, editor and senior vice president, New Media.

"Rusty has great news values, and his creativity and energy will allow us to continue to build our dynamic Web site," said McGuire.

Coats has a B.A. degree in journalism and English from Indiana University. He also completed a Management Series at UC-Davis in 1997 and Leadership Bee management training in 1998. The Star Tribune Company, an information and communications company serving the Twin Cities area of Minneapolis and St. Paul, is a subsidiary of The McClatchy Company of Sacramento, Calif.
