Steve Jobs Biography, Called iSteve, to be Published in 2012

Posted on April 13, 2011

Simon & Schuster announced it will publish a biography of Apple co-founder Steve Jobs in 2012. The biography will be called iSteve: The Book of Jobs. The biogrpahy is written by Walter Isaacson who has spent the last three years interviewing Steve Jobs.

Simon & Schuster says Isaacson began work on the book in 2009 and has conducted extensive interviews with Mr. Jobs and family members, as well as key colleagues from Apple as well as competitors.

Jonathan Karp, Publisher of Simon & Schuster, says, "This is the perfect match of subject and author, and it is certain to be a landmark book about one of the world's greatest innovators. Just as he did with Einstein and Benjamin Franklin, Walter Isaacson is telling a unique story of revolutionary genius."

CNET notes that an unauthorized biography of Steve Jobs, iCon Steve Jobs, was published in 2005 by John Wiley & Sons. Steve Jobs did not like it and it led to Apple pulling all Wiley books from all Apple stores. The iSteve book should be a completely different situation since Walter Isaacson has been given great access to Steve Jobs.
