Steve Schirripa Writing Parenting Book for Dads

Posted on July 6, 2012

Steve Schirripa, best known for his role as Bobby Baccalieri on The Sopranos, is writing a parenting book for dads, called Big Daddy's Rules: Raising Daughters is Tougher than I Look. The book will be published by Touchstone in Spring 2013.

Schirripa's latest role is as a father on ABC Family's The Secret Life of the American Teenager. In the real world, the Brooklyn born actor is a father of two. The book promises a "hilarious tough-guy stance on what it takes to raise kids today."

Schirripa says, "I knew the instant I held my first born daughter in my arms that I was now in the role of a protector and had taken on an incredible responsibility. Overprotective? Maybe. Willing to tone it down? Not a chance. And that is what my book will expound on. One big daddy to another."

Stacy Creamer, vice president and publisher of Touchstone, says, "Steve Schirripa is no 'goomba' when it comes to caring for his kids. He is an old-fashioned, tough-guy teddy bear, who brings a welcome return to common-sense parenting. Any parent who has felt that fierce over-protectiveness for their child will relate."
