Tech.memeorandum Renamed as Techmeme
Posted on May 8, 2006
Tech.memeorandum, a memetracker for the tech industry, has been renamed Tech.meme, which is a both easier to remember and type. Gabe Rivera, the founder of Tech.memeorandum, says, "I'm betting the rest of you won't miss the 'orandum' a whole lot either." TechCrunch is happy about the name change.
This is the last time I will write about Memeorandum because, thank God, it has been renamed by founder Gabe Rivera. The technology part of the blog aggregator Memeorandum, formerly at tech.memeorandum.com, is now TechMeme.Gabe's political memetracker still resides at memeorandum.com. They also run two other memetrackers: We Smirch, for gossip; and BallBug, for baseball. Gabe went for a specific sport (baseball) while other memetrackers like Megite have a general sports memetracker.Thank you Gabe, for finally taking that name out back and shooting it. I can't tell you how many times I mistyped it. My previous posts on Memeorandum, now TechMeme, are here. If you don't know what TechMeme is, read my first two posts on it, here and here, to get an understanding of why it's important.
