Teen-Net Features Over 30 Teen Staff Writers
Posted on September 23, 1997
In celebrating their one year anniversary, Teen-Net, has evolved into the first daily teen E-zine, with over 30 teen staff writers from around the world. In addition to the original works submitted by teens, new features include: The Freshman, a weekly series on the trials and tribulations of a teens first year in H.S. and College Bound, a continuing series of helpful hints on reducing the stress of getting into college.
Teen-Net advocates teens to Speak Your Mind On the Net (S.Y.M.O.N). With minimal restrictions, Teen-Net encourages teens to speak as freely as desired. To ensure teen authenticity, Teen-Net has brought on Jason Davis, a 15 year old computer wiz from Seattle as its Webmaster. "Weve created the site to be a unobtrusive place a place for teens to hang-out, and share their experiences. We cover everything a teen is likely to be interested in like music, sports, games, movies, TV, astrology, and fashion. One of our most popular sections is S.Y.M.O.N Says, where teens submit their problems to Meredith and Josh, our teen Dear Abbeys". "Of course, dating is the number one question", says Frank Maris, chief editor of Teen-Net.
As an interactive site with thousands of members, Teen-Net allows members to find other teens with similar interests. Through the database teens can search for an E-pal via several options: age, gender, hobbies, and geographic location. Members can also find close to 2,000 teen developed homepages and hundreds of pictures in the Photo Gallery. For live interaction Teen-Net provides members with the leading chat software from iChat.
