The Reader's Digest Association Acquires Benchmark Publications

The Reader's Digest Association Far East, Ltd. (Reader's Digest Asia) has acquired Benchmark, Ltd., the publisher of a group of four investment guide publications distributed in Hong Kong, Taiwan and Singapore. The announcement was made in Hong Kong today by Tony Rees, regional managing director of Reader's Digest Asia, and Gerry Ball, managing director of Benchmark, Ltd.

Benchmark provides readers with reports on global and Asian fund markets as well as performance analysis of investment funds through its four publications: Benchmark - Investment Funds of Asia, Performance Tracker, Global Funds Analysis and Asian Funds Analysis.

Rees says in a statement, "The Benchmark publications are an independent and highly respected voice providing information related to investment funds. This acquisition by Reader's Digest demonstrates another step in the company's commitment to doing business in Asia and specifically to extending our presence in the Asian financial field. This also reflects our continuing interest in the magazine business in Asia and around the world."
