Top Bush Speechwriter Turns in His Pen

President Bush's chief speechwriter, Michael Gerson, is expected to be replaced by William McGurn of The Wall Street Journal. Gerson, a Christian Evangelical, is credited for the organization of Bush's speeches, as well as their Biblical content and references.

MSBNC reports that Gerson will remain with Team Bush and have more influence on White House policy. Beltway insiders are now speculating about the effect of the change. Will references to Scripture be replaced with stock quotes? Only time will tell.
