  • Margaret Atwood Dons an Octopus Hat to Accept Red Tentacle Award (2016-03-09): Margaret Atwood has won the 2015 Kitschies Red Tentacle Award for best novel. She wore an octopus fascinator to accept the British award for fantastic fiction.

  • David Mitchell Wins Best Novel for The Bone Clocks at 2015 World Fantasy Awards (2015-11-09): David Mitchell wins Best Novel at the World Fantasy Awards for The Bone Clocks. Also, H.P. Lovecraft has been dumped as the image for the award statuette.

  • Man Booker International Prize to be Awarded Annually (2015-07-11): The Man Book International Prize has teamed up with the Independent Foreign Fiction Prize. The MBI will now be awarded annually.

  • Harold Holzer Wins the 2015 Gilder Lehrman Lincoln Prize (2015-02-16): Lincoln scholar Harold Holzer has won the 2015 Gilder Lehrman Lincoln Prize for his book Lincoln and the Power of the Press: The War for Public Opinion.

  • National Book Critics Circle Announces Finalists (2015-01-20): The National Book Critics Circle announced the finalists for the best books of 2014. Toni Morrison will receive a Lifetime Achievement award.

  • Shortlists for 2014 PEN Literary Awards Announced (2014-06-19): The shortlists for the 2014 PEN Literary Awards have been announced. The prizes, awards and grants total $150,000.

  • ALA Announces Fiction and Nonfiction Shortlists for 2014 Andrew Carnegie Medals (2014-04-07): The ALA has announced the fiction and nonfiction shortlists for the 2014 Andrew Carnegie Medals. Knopf cleans up, publishes three of the six nominees.

  • 2013 Costa Book Award Winners Announced (2014-01-07): Winners of the 2013 Costa Book Awards have been announced. Kate Atkinson won the novel award for Life After Life.

  • 2013 National Book Awards Finalists Announced (2013-10-16): MSNBC announced the finalists for the National Book Awards this morning. The finalists include Jhumpa Lahiri and Thomas Pynchon.

  • Terry Pratchett's 50th Novel Snuff Wins Wodehouse Prize (2012-05-31): Terry Pratchett has won the 13th annual Bollinger Everyman Wodehouse Prize for Comic Fiction.

  • 2012 Los Angeles Times Book Prizes Announced (2012-04-23): The winners of the 2012 Los Angeles Times Book Prizes were announced Friday, April 20, 2012, during a public ceremony held in the Bovard Auditorium on the campus of USC.
