Tor/Forge to Publish Jack Bauer Novel, 24: Deadline, in August

Posted on May 16, 2014

Tor/Forge will publish a Jack Bauer novel, 24: Deadline, on August 5, 2014. The novel fills the gap between season 8 of 24 and the upcoming event series, 24: Live Another Day. TorForge says the novel "will answer some of the questions of what happened to Jack in the four years between the end of season eight and the new 24: Live Another Day event series."

The book is written by bestselling author James Swallow. It will equal 24 hours in Bauer's life just like each season of the series did.

Tor/Forge Books Editor Melissa Frain says in a statement, "Few shows have ever been able to achieve what 24 has on television. As passionate fans of the show ourselves, we're thrilled to help fill the gap between the devastating events of last season and Jack's highly anticipated return in 24: Live Another Day with 24: Deadline." She also says Swallow "has the perfect sensibility to tell the world just what happened to Jack Bauer after the clock wound down at the end of Season eight."

The book is available for pre-order on Amazon.com.
