Here is the trailer for The Rum Diary starring Johnny Depp, Amber Heard, Aaron Eckhart, Richard Jenkins and Giovanni Ribisi. Written and directed by Bruce Robinson, the film is an adaptation of a story by Hunter S. Thompson. Depp has been in Thomson territory before, when he made Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas.

Paul Kemp (Depp) is a freelance journalist needing a career boost who ends up in San Juan, Puerto Rico, working for the newspaper, The Daily News. He meets a group of new friends who all have various vices they love to indulge. As one might expect with a project based on a Hunter S. Thompson story, there is a great deal of rum involved, as well as intrigue and romance. The film will be released on October 28, 2011. Take a look:
