TechCrunch reports that Twitter has shared some Q1 numbers on its @twittercomms account. In Q1 Twitter saw its tweets per day climb 41%. The company also saw a 52% increase in Twitter account signups from December to March.

Twitter also shared a live stat that it is now at 155 million tweets per day, which is nearly three times the 55 million tweets a day during the same time period a year ago. Twitter didn't share any details about how many active users it has, but it is still clear from this information that the service is still growing rapidly.
