Twitter Reveals Top Retweeted Tweets of 2013

Twitter has revealed the top retweeted tweets of 2013. The top three were all celebrity related. The top tweet was Lea Michele's tweet thanking people for support for the loss of her boyfriend and Glee co-star Cory Monteith. It was retweeted nearly 400,000 times.

Lea's tweet was followed closely by a tweet confirming the death of actor Paul Walker:

The popularity of the third most retweeted tweet is shocking. It is One Direction band member Niall Horan announcing that he is 20. We can see this getting a lot of retweets because One Direction is popular, but over 366,000 retweets for this is beyond absurd.
