USA Today's Baseball Weekly Renamed Sports Weekly

USA Today Baseball Weekly will be renamed and expanded to include coverage of professional football. The publication will now be titled Sports Weekly and the first issue hits newsstands September 4th. USA Today Sports Weekly will continue to provide baseball news and information and will add professional football news, analysis, trends, and stats. The announcement was made by Lee Ivory, publisher and executive editor of Baseball Weekly. Ivory will continue in that role following the publication's name change.

Some of the new features will include Columns that bring readers everything from predictions to trades to contract talks; the Inside Slant, news and notes from the around the league that will give readers a window into the world of the NFL; Getting in the Game, a feature directed at getting younger fans excited about pro football; and Fantasy football coverage that gives readers expert advice on how to find and land each week's top performers.

"We're excited to offer this new product. Sports Weekly will deliver to our readers more pages and extensive coverage of America's two biggest sports," Ivory said.

USA Today Sports Weekly will be published every Wednesday with a cover price of $1.50. USA Today and USA Today Sports Weekly are published by Gannett Co., Inc.
