Video: Uglies Movie Trailer, Based on Scott Westerfeld’s Novel

Here is the movie trailer for the dystopian movie Uglies. The film is based on the 2005 novel by Scott Westerfield.

Joey King plays the lead role of Tally Youngblood. She is on the verge of getting her cosmetic surgery, which happens to everyone at age 16 in the futuristic world.

Tally's plans to change her look, become pretty and join the rest of society are altered when she decides to follow a runaway friend.

The film is directed by McG who says, "Basically what happens is, you're afforded a surgery when you turn 16 years old so you can look any way you want to look. It's the belief of the society that if we all look the way we want, you can eradicate conflict."
